Some unexpected and very welcome news: The Bookseller has featured The Aftershock Review.
It’s strange to see it written out like that, that this magazine began while I was bedbound with PTSD. But it’s true. Of course it’s true. And every day I keep going. The last three days have been tough with flashbacks. But here we are. Again. Sober and clean and asking for serenity.
“Edited by poet and journalist Max Wallis, who founded the magazine while bedbound with PTSD, [it] provides a platform for poems exploring trauma, mental health, grief and queerness.”
What we’re doing with Aftershock is raw and real and unlike anything else out there. It’s not just about poetry, it’s about what survives. I’m proud of every single person who’s helped bring it into the world.
